Happy New Year! For most of us, the new year brings a fresh start, new years resolutions, and hopefully a fresh perspective in almost everything we do. For the studio, it brings a new website, new services, and a new facilty coming later this year. The pressures of life are always right on top of us. So...

Starting the new year is always a love/hate relationship for me. It seems the media fills my head with images of how fat I am, why I need that new car, how many flaws I have, and how "they" can help me for just two payments of $19.99. For once I would like to start the new year different, so I am.
This year rather than focus on what the media crams down my throat, I am choosing to look at something that I currently CAN do, and enhance it. Something that I am truly passionate about, and want to grow, or mature in. I already know the latest Harvard Medical Study has me pegged at 20 pounds over weight for my height, and that I have bad habits, and that I sometimes forget to "not" flip off that driver when he cuts me off.
So what's a guy to do. I think I'll take a class on producing music with the new Reason 4 (its sweet), read a new book, or simply go hug my wife and tell her I love her (need to do this more often). The bottom line is that I am not going to focus on my negative behaviors. I am going to take something I am passionate about, and continue to nurture it. If I can take one thing and apply this concept, it should be a sweet year. I encourage you to do the same. Find something you are passionate about, something you keep telling yourself "man, I wish I could play guitar better", or "I wonder what happens if I record that keyboard this way?". We would probably be surprised at how things work out.
